Xcel Energy Project Management Intern in Denver, Colorado

Project Description:
Join the Distribution Capital Projects team to support Xcel Energy and its customers in planning and deploying distribution infrastructure. We aim to be a net-zero energy provider by 2050, including providing 100% carbon-free electricity to our customers. Our distribution infrastructure helps support the clean energy transition for Xcel Energy and its customers.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience with project management of how real-life projects are planned and constructed. In addition, you’ll be a part of our continuous improvement of ensuring all processes are working efficiently by calculating and reviewing project performance metrics. You will work closely with and be mentored by two senior Project Managers and team who leads the deployment of these projects.
This role provides the opportunity to not only learn how a modern utility operates, but to help bring novel ideas and processes from concept to reality in a truly critical and rapidly evolving industry. Your role will include studying project proposals, coordinating with different departments, forecasting material needs, calculating project performance metrics.
This position will give preference to candidates who are located in the Denver, CO Metro Area. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer, and with potential to at least 20 hours per week during the school semester. We are a hybrid work environment with 60% of time in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and 40% of time remote each week (Monday and Friday). The office locations for this position will be at 1123 W 3rd Ave, Denver, CO 80223.
Minimum Requirements:
Enrolled in programs such as: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management
Must be a current Junior
Must be able to commute to the required office location.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.40 to $20.40 per hour
