Our Project Engineers act in a consulting capacity on our client’s projects - investigating and monitoring construction activities, reviewing data and performing analyses, preparing technical deliverables and other work products, and may actively work on construction projects, reporting to and working alongside a more experienced consultant.

Technical / Surety Consulting

  • Investigation of performance and payment bond claims.

  • Monitoring of construction projects.

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Assess construction performance and record construction activities to ensure compliance with construction documents.

  • Analyze the overall health of a given construction project to determine risks associated with schedule, cost, quality, and safety.

  • Technical evaluation of construction deficiencies.

  • Assist with on-site management of construction projects.

  • Assist with preparation of detailed reports auditing construction projects: schedule analysis, auditing of project finances.

  • Assist with review and preparation of construction contract claims.

  • Other project duties as assigned by managers.


+ + Bachelor’s degree in a technical, management, or engineering field (i.e.: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, etc.) with minimum of four (4) years of related construction industry experience.

  • Experience with surety claims or contract claims preferred, though not required.

  • Familiarity with common practices of construction contract administration, including RFIs, QA/QC requirements, submittals, and applicable regulations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal oversight but take direction effectively from managers.

  • Ability to work in both a consultant and a construction role.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

  • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities, and have the ability to perform exceptionally under high stress conditions.

  • Knowledge of standard software packages required (spreadsheets, word processing, publishing, collaboration, video conferencing, etc.), Primavera 6 preferred
