University Of Denver Program Coordinator, Mental Health And Wellness Collaborativ in Denver, Colorado

The Collaborative for Mental Health and Wellness (the Collaborative) fosters interprofessional collaboration across four schools by bringing together students, faculty, and community partners to improve mental health. The Collaborative's vision is community and university partnerships that advance mental health services, research, and training. The Collaborative's efforts are directed by a faculty steering committee comprised of faculty from the four schools. The Collaborative is part of DU's Strategic Health Initiative, which connects, activates, and supports collaboration for research and learning to advance health and wellness. The Strategic Health Initiative is part of the Office for Public Good Strategy and Research.

Position Summary

This is a 2-year temporary Program Coordinator position that has the potential to be renewed if external funds are secured.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate cross-unit programming to advance community-engaged collaboration for mental health and wellness.

  • Oversee planning and assist with implementing community-university events to advance with the Faculty Steering Committee.

  • Oversee planning and assist with implementing interprofessional training opportunities with the Faculty Steering Committee.

  • Provide primary support for the Collaborative for Mental Health and Wellness

  • Coordinate meetings and communications with the Faculty Steering Committee.

  • Liaise with relevant university offices to support the Collaborative's work, including Advancement.
  • Serve as an initial connection point for community partners interested in collaboration to improve mental health.
  • Design and manage communication strategies for internal and external audiences.
  • With the Faculty Steering Committee, create and update specific project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resources to advance the Collaborative's mission.
  • Maintain open contact channels for updates, problem-solving, and feedback with the Faculty Steering Committee.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of the projects success and identify areas for improvement in future projects.

  • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Office management skills: Ability to use computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, Qualtrics, and PowerPoint; website maintenance; excellent communication skills, both written and oral; demonstrated ability to learn additional software as needed.

  • Strong understanding of broad issues in mental health and community engagement.
  • Experience working with students in internship, research, or engagement efforts.
  • Event planning and communication skills; marketing and communication strategies; collaboration and problem-solving; budgeting and office skills; multi-tasking; and working with multiple stakeholders on complex projec
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and community members.
  • Experience applying diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in collaborative work. Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree, preferably in psychology, social work, counseling, or allied health field

  • 1 year of project management experience Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree, preferably in psychology, social work, counseling, or allied field

  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in higher education Working Environment
  1. Standard office environment.
  2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
  2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transpo ting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
