Description
Trademark Paralegal
Our client, a leading AM Law 100 firm, is seeking a 5 plus years experienced Trademark Paralegal to support their dynamic IP Practice Group.
Responsibilities:
Manage trademark docket – US and foreign
Conduct trademark searches
Prepare and file trademark applications, office action responses, and maintenance documents
Communicate with foreign associates regarding filings, registration, etc.
Communicate with attorneys and IP Docket Specialist regarding docket entries and status of the same
Manage intake of newly acquired trademark portfolios as needed
Management of patent portfolios possible
Extensive client contact
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of the Intellectual Property practice area
Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects for several attorneys
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Requirements:
Paralegal Certificate required; bachelor's degree strongly preferred
5 plus years of trademark prosecution paralegal experience required.
Patent prosecution experience, a plus.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Paralegal role.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with Case Management Software is a must.
• Knowledge of LexisNexis and Management System is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability in Billing Functions and Calendar Management.
• Must have experience in briefing and intellectual property.
• Understanding of Intellectual Property Law, including Intellectual Property - Patent and Intellectual Property - Trademark.
• Familiarity with Patent - US Prov - Utility - Des - PCT, Foreign Patent, and Patent Application.
• Experience in Patent Law, Patent Portfolio, Patent Preparation, and Patent Prosecution.
• Ability to conduct Patentability Searches and manage U.S. Patent and Foreign Trademark.
• Experience with Trademark - Affidavits of Use, Trademark Application, and Trademark Office.
• Proficiency in Trademark Prosecution, Trademarks, and Trademark Research for TM Availability.
• Experience with Trademark Renewals and handling Trademark Infringement is necessary.
