Take your first step tojoining our dedicated team by applying today.PRIMARY PURPOSE:Under direct supervision, receives orders for blood and blood products,prepares blood and blood products for shipment, and delivers those productsto hospital customers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and externalregulations. Responsible for bringing compliance issues to the attention ofmanagement.Provides value for the customer by supporting departmental and individual goalachievement, effective communications, process improvement and compliance.Demonstrates respect for all team members by seeking input on processes andproblem solving, communicating key information, collaborative teamwork andsupporting a culture of diversity.Receives prepares, and ships routine, ASAP and STAT orders for blood andblood products.Selects appropriate blood components for order accuracy to include producttype, ageing, and any requested customer criteria. Conducts a visualinspection of each product prior to packing to ensure there are noabnormalities. Packs blood components in specified configuration and storagecontainer required by validation.Professionally and safely delivers blood product orders to Vitalant hospitalcustomers using a company vehicle. May deliver products and packages toairport cargo desks and other Vitalant sites. Meets required deliverytimeframes to ensure logistics parameters and customer expectations.Communicates with customers regarding order fulfillment, order turn-aroundtimes, estimated arrival time, product availability, or other questionsor concerns customers may have. Escalates customer concerns as appropriate todepartment leadership, or medical representatives.Maintains accurate hospital services records. Accurately records transactionsand processes associated fees.Monitors all storage requirements and updates applicable records and charts.Performs quality control of storage equipment and shipping procedures.Maintains hospital services equipment, vehicles and work area includingperiodic preventative maintenance.Supports logistics by scheduling third-party carrier pickups; following upon late shipments, monitoring product and supply movement inside Vitalant;and supporting local operations with supply movement as needed.Receives, inspects and determines acceptability of blood components.Initiates quarantine and/or blocked distribution for suspectednon-conforming products.Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.Equal Opportunity Employer -minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexualorientation/gender identity
