The Office of the Future of Work (OFW) works to understand, prepare for, and develop policy and programmatic solutions to support Coloradans in today and tomorrow’s economy. The OFW works in partnership with other state departments and convenes task forces and summits with diverse stakeholders across different regions to explore the topic. The OFW oversees the State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA) which promotes and supports registered apprenticeship programs in Colorado. The OFW administers US Department of Labor (USDOL) funded apprenticeship expansion grants to increase career and education pathways for jobseekers and students to high-wage careers, with an emphasis on historically excluded populations. The OFW oversees the state’s Digital Equity initiative which partners with state agencies, community based organizations, and others to research digital literacy and the programmatic, technological, and educational infrastructure required to ensure all Coloradans have the devices, digital skills, and internet they need to participate in work, learning, and daily life.

The Operations Specialist will work in alignment with the Operations Manager and Organizational Services team to implement OFW objectives, initiatives, programs, and projects.

Specific duties of the Operations Specialist include and are not limited to:

  • Create operational processes and procedures essential to the interdepartmental functions of the OFW.

  • Liaison with the CDLE Strategic Business Technology team, OIT, and Procurement.

  • Assist with technology procurement and contracting efforts in collaboration with OIT, the Strategic Business Technology team, and Procurement.

  • Consult on the integration of technological infrastructure critical to the daily operations of the OFW.

  • Ensure responsible data sharing through the coordination and creation of data sharing agreements between state agencies and improving current data sharing processes and guidelines.

  • Monitor fiscal year spend down of OFW federal and state grants and other special funding streams.

  • Coordinate the setup and monitoring of OFW funding streams.

  • Onboarding of new staff and maintenance of onboarding materials.

  • Manage the team training calendar and coordinate professional development opportunities for OFW staff.

    The Operations Specialist is responsible for informing the implementation of new technology and developing training opportunities for new staff to ensure proper and efficient use of the various technological tools utilized by the OFW and Apprenticeship Colorado teams. The Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in the fiscal and programmatic management of agency funds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years.

  • Working knowledge of; Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat Pro, CORE and/or general navigation of large databases, Microsoft Office, Smartsheets

  • Understanding of federal and state grants, and processes required for effective grant administration.
