Position Summary

The Nursing Simulation Coordinator oversees, manages, coordinates, and evaluates simulation lab activities for the Nursing program. This includes developing, planning, organizing, and implementing simulation-based learning experiences for nursing students. The coordinator will assist with faculty development and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure the use of simulation space and technology effectively. They will maintain a realistic, safe, educational environment and effectively facilitate debriefing sessions. Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Director of Simulation and Sills Hub, the Nursing Simulation Coordinator will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Simulation Lab Operations (75%) Coordinate day-to-day operations of the nursing simulation lab, ensuring all simulation scenario-related items are functional and up to date Assist with setting up and maintaining simulation scenarios, standardized patients, simulators, and technical equipment Troubleshoot simulation equipment and software during sessions to minimize disruptions to learning Monitor and ensure appropriate standards of cleanliness, equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement are obvious Cultivate relationships with Simulation and Skills Lab team members to create seamless daily operations Recruit, hire, orient, train, and evaluate new simulation faculty and staff on the use of simulation equipment, software, and best practices for scenario facilitation Provide guidance on effective debriefing techniques and help faculty with post-simulation reflection and evaluation Evaluate simulation faculty and staff on an annual basis or as needed Maintain accurate inventory of simulation equipment and supplies Ensure the safe handling, storage, and maintenance of equipment, including simulators and medical devices Coordinate repairs or replacements of malfunctioning equipment Maintain records of simulation activities, including scenario outcomes, student performance, equipment, and sp ce usage Generate reports on simulation evaluations, learning outcomes, and any issues that arise during simulation sessions Assist in the preparation of reports for accreditation and institutional reviews Other duties as assigned like the above, consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job
