Facilities Assistant

Intermountain Divisional Headquarters - Denver, Colorado

The Salvation Army Intermountain Divisional Headquarters is seeking a qualified person for the full time (36.25 hours) non-exempt facilities assistant position. This position will maintain property and equipment in a clean and safe condition, conducting daily

inspections of building and parking lots. Immediately inform supervisor of any maintenance problem or any possible dangerous situation that may arise. Process incoming, outgoing and inter-office mail using both manual and automated methods. Perform minor maintenance

tasks as needed including, but not limited to, making minor repairs such as leaking commodes and faucets, replacement of light bulbs or small area painting. Responsible for stocking and disbursing lunchroom items and keeping kitchen area clean. Set up and

break down tables and chairs as needed. Move or assist in moving heavy objects such as furniture to meet staff needs. Understand and adhere to company safety practices. Maintain DHQ fleet vehicles and obtain registrations, license plates or registration renewals.

As required remove snow and ice from walkways and parking lots. Position may be required to work outside up to 25% of the time. Other duties as assigned.


Position Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or Equivalent

 Minimally 21 years of age with a valid Colorado Driver License

 Minimum one year related experience

 Working knowledge of mail processing systems or ability to be trained within 30 days

 General maintenance knowledge including electrical, plumbing and landscaping

 Ability to perform general cleaning tasks using cleaning equipment and tools.

 Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
