The Role

Individual will perform technical project management functions in the GSD NOC on U.S. Government owned networks. Work location is Denver, CO. The position will support the 2nd shift (2 pm – 10 pm M – F) and require an active Government security clearance or successful pre-screen evaluation to obtain a security clearance.

The Main Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical guidance and support to NOC technicians, provides complex Tier III technical assistance

• Network optimization activities to restructure traffic to allow for growth capacity via network grooms

• Conduct new technology enhancements to the network with hardware and software regression and compliance, lab testing of specific applications

• Analyze network performance, recommend improvement strategy and implement specific stabilization changes

• Participate in contingency planning efforts to safeguard traffic through alt-routing measures, deploying and configuring temporary network equipment

• Perform network audits of the fiber backbone and circuits

• Vendor management engagement, analysis of complex troubles and outages, recommend fix actions, participate in vendor TAC review cases, equipment failure tracking and trending, prepare feature enhancement recommendations to vendor, assist on-site vendor engineers through local login to various equipment and troubleshooting

• Conduct and schedule software upgrades, network back-ups and node restorations, circuit provisioning and network augmentations

• Manage DCN network and provide technical guidance on EMS platforms

• Test & Acceptance management of new network equipment – includes creation of new templates, ensuring equipment and EDP design documentation are accurate, performing out-of-box failure testing and analysis, certify final release for service activation and equipment additions

• Perform customer testing and fault isolation for new service turn-ups

• Identify and help arrange content specific training from vendors

• Provides technical guidance and support to NOC staff

• Train, develop and coach NOC technicians, and assess staff technical development.

• Analyze and assess new project requirements and develop/implement processes and procedures in support of requirements

• Collaborates closely with customer Program Offices and Management

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience with four-fiber BLSR and UPSR architecture for long-haul DWDM networks that include OSC, EDFA & Raman amplification

• Extensive OTN knowledge and directly applicable experience

• Experience with SNC circuits

• DCN with sub-netting experience

• Strong familiarity with G.8032 Ethernet ring architecture and fundamentals, Ethernet services (E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree)

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO
