Job Summary

The Endocrinology and Metabolism Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and osteoporosis.

Essential Functions:

Conducting patient consultations, medical evaluations, and diagnostic tests to determine the underlying causes of endocrine and metabolic disorders (20%) Creating and implementing personalized treatment plans for patients, which may include medication, lifestyle changes, and hormone therapy (20%) Conducting follow-up appointments to monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary (20%) Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as dietitians and diabetes educators, to provide comprehensive care for patients (10%) Participating in clinical research studies to advance our understanding of endocrine and metabolic disorders and treatment options (10%) Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in endocrinology and metabolism research and treatment options (10%) Provide teaching and training of medical students, house staff and fellows, attending for the Endocrinology Division, and involvement in clinical research protocols. (10%) Education:

Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution Required and Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism Required Work Experience:

less than 1 year Licenses:

MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required and BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Computer skills required. Computer skills preferred.
