Position Summary

As a part of Student Engagement and Well-Being at Metropolitan State University of Denver, the Office of the Dean of Students is committed to student safety and well-being by fostering a university community of integrity and respect. Functions within the Dean of Students Office include: student conduct, student conflict resolution services, coordination of the CARE Team (behavioral intervention team), and the Student Care Center. Operating as a branch within the Dean of Students Office, the Student Care Center provides non-clinical case management, generalized support and referrals for students in crisis, manages the CARE Team (Case Management), oversees the Student Emergency Fund, and assists students in pursuing resources to address unmet basic needs.

The Compliance & Operations Manager will play a critical role in the Dean of Students Office by assisting in the production of compliance reports (e.g. Clery Act Annual Security Report, Drug Free Schools and Communities Report); improving reporting processes by developing or building upon processes, practices, communication, activities, and record-keeping; and developing a more robust student employee professional development program. Additionally, the Compliance & Operations Manager assists with the database management responsibilities (using Maxient system) and coordinates assessment functions for the Dean of Students Office.

This position reports to and works with the Associate Dean of Students to ensure that MSU Denver is in compliance with all regulations included the Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act, and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.

The Manager works with the Assistant Director of Student Accountability and Behavioral Intervention on updating and maintaining our Maxient database. Duties/Responsibilities

35% - Compliance activities related to Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, as well as any other applicable compliance regulations. Collaborate with Associate Dean of Students to gather, review, corroborate, write, and publish Annual Security Report, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Report, and any other reports designated as the responsibility of the Dean of Students Office. Assist with the compilation of any data and/or information requested from the Dean of Students Office in order to complete compliance reports that are the responsibility of other offices. Coordinate with the Auraria Campus Police Department to ensure that all appropriate information has been shared for record-keeping and reporting purposes. Enter Annual Security Report information into the Department of Education portal. Work with Dean of Students Office and other departments to develop or improve data collection processes in order to improve and/or streamline the outcomes of compliance reporting processes. Analyze areas for improvement in reporting processes and propose solutions for addressing those areas for improvement. Establish timelines for best results in completion of reports. Work with appropriate parties to ensure applicable timelines and deadline dates are integrated into their respective calendars. Collaborate with Associate Dean of Students to convene and lead working group to thoroughly review expectations of Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and assess our institutional compliance. Lead the working group in the generation and facilitation of recommendations in order to improve compliance. Work with the Clery Center to review and critique Annual Security Report. Implement recommendations for improvement in future Annual Security Reports. Keep up to date with changes in policy and law that affect compliance reporting.

20% - Coordinate intake for students, staff, and faculty engaging with DOS Work with Associate Dean of Students to develop a robust and efficient intake process for incoming conduct cases, student complaints, and academic integrity Meet with students to answer basic questions about DOS processes and direct them to correct staff members Maintain Maxient database - reaching out to students who fail to schedule meetings or miss sanction deadlines, adding communications and notes to cases, and ensuring staff have manageable case loads Assist...
