Position Description
The Strategy, Corporate Development and M&A team at Wolters Kluwer Health, is responsible for leading the overall portfolio strategy of Wolters Kluwer Health. This includes: 1) identifying organic and inorganic expansion areas for growth, 2) analyzing industry trends, assessing competitive developments and sizing market opportunities, 3) creating a consistent way to size our underlying markets and forecast growth, 4) working on select corporate development initiatives, and 5) leading select projects for individual business units either alone, or together with, external consultants.
Wolters Kluwer Health reported 2023 revenues of $1.6 billion. The Division operates in highly attractive healthcare markets with clinical technology and evidence-based solutions that engage clinicians, patients, researchers and students with advanced clinical decision support, learning and research and clinical intelligence.
Embedded in our team are the capabilities across business strategy and consulting, strategic, competitive and financial analysis and M&A transactional skills. This is a critical role within the Strategy, Corporate Development and M&A Department in which it will be important to build immediate credibility with colleagues of all levels throughout the organization. The candidate will report to the EVP, who leads the Department and who reports directly to the Health Division CEO. The candidate will work closely with the Divisional leadership and Business Unit senior operating management, as well as have exposure to Corporate leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead key research projects for the Division (projects may cover an array of customer segments, including provider, payer, life sciences, regulatory and other). Analyze and synthesize research findings – qualitative and quantitative – to identify key market implications including opportunities for growth and strategic challenges. Leverage analysis to identify actionable growth opportunities. Serve as the primary contact for the relevant work and manage internal stakeholders and communications. This will require you to manage virtual teams within business units of the Division.
Build market models for our core businesses and adjacent market expansion, including identifying and modelling various scenarios and their implications. Segment markets and customers to enable a granular understanding of key markets and enable tactical actions on the part of the business in response to market data.
Design and implement a research plan to inform strategic and business planning processes including interviews, focus groups, surveys (as appropriate) and provide statistical analysis of the data.
Lead commercial due diligence activities in connection with M&A initiatives including data and analysis on market size, market growth, competitive differentiation and other key due diligence needs.
Support strategy projects, market analyses, product initiatives or other growth opportunities at the Business Unit level as needed including leading the initiative with research, data analysis and financial modelling of all quantitative and qualitative data, and provide thoughtful business insights to the analysis.
Engage third party consultants, as needed, by creating an RFP for the project and help guide the process as they prepare their pitch presentation for senior management. Once retained, work closely with third party consultants and internal teams to obtain the desired objectives of the engagement.
Prepare formal presentations for senior executives within the Division as well as for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board of Wolters Kluwer.
Perform other duties as assigned. This position will require long hours and work on weekends as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials or equivalent or other relevant postgraduate degree preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategy Consulting plus additional experience in Corporate Development functions.
· Healthcare industry experience considered a plus.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily US which will vary depending on assigned projects but not expected to exceed approximately 25% of his or her time.
Compensation:
Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $200,700-$284,100
This role is eligible for Bonus.
