Come grow with us! General Purpose and Scope of Position: The Business Intelligence Analyst provides analytics support to data analysts within the divisions/departments at Wilbur Ellis. This is not a report writing position. This individual will be considered a subject matter expert in BI reporting, who can drive adoption, educate on best practices and software, advocate the importance of data literacy and governance, and continue to evolve us to best-in-class reporting. In addition to supporting our analyst community, this role may deliver on ad-hoc dataset design, assist with security by report, column, or row, tune performance, and capture business requirements for technical design. An ideal candidate will be innovative, customer service oriented, demonstrate a high level of communication skills (written and verbal), display patience, and invest in cont Key Skills and Abilities Include: Bachelors degree with work experience or specialization in business intelligence, data analysis, and data modeling Proven support of end users and the business with enterprise analytics and data discovery Experience with various data sources, tools, and technologies used in preparing BI reports Hands-on experience using Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot and Sigma Computing Experience with data catalogs, Alation preferred. Similar tools: Collibra, Purview, Informatica Skilled in data warehouse modeling methods, such as Kimball and Inmon, with hands-on experience producing models from different data structures, such as 3NF, Canonical, JSON, and Flat files Familiar with Python & SQL coding and uses of the software Key Personal Attributes Include: Strong analytical and program-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions Fluent in reading and writing SQL Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, innovative, punctual, and reliable Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: Internal consultant to the business analysts sharing insights on how best to access, visualize, deliver, secure, and maintain bi-reporting. Works both with the IT data & analytics team and independently as a senior analyst/subject matter expert to provide technical support to others Helps to develop a process for self-service bi-reports to move from citizen developers to enterprise solutions Identifies and proposes impactful visualizations utilizing various technology/ applications/ methodologies to improve data consumption and decision-making Requires a fundamental understanding of enterprise reporting, BI platforms, tools, and techniques. Ability to effectively leverage BI best practices and training skills to support diverse reporting and BI functions for the organization. Expert knowledge of all main data sources for the data used within the business and ability to effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposes Technical support for our data catalog Stays abreast on the latest trends, training opportunities, and capabilities of BI and data governance software Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, which may include consultation Analyzes to provide enhanced Business Intelligence to inform management leadership Validates the quality and integrity of data Participates in monthly analyst user roups gathering challenges, offering solutions, and helping to prioritize work Conducts or coordinates vendor-led training for new analysts, skill refreshers, or advanced reporting features. Works with analysts across the company to understand business drivers, definitions, and metrics to interpret findings, act, and provide meaningful direction Contributes to a review of processes and assists in identifying potential opportunities to improve information and migrate to data-driven decisions Compensation and Benefits: In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $72,900 to 97.180. Wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for many benefits, such as vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, bonus, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
