Tetra Tech, Inc. Automation Project Manager - 20000002776 in Denver, Colorado

Convergence Controls and Engineering, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a full-time Automation Project Manager for highly experienced controls professionals.

The position oversees both commercial and technical aspects of projects that include control system integration, engineering, contractors, and procurement to ensure projects exceed customer expectations every time. This position will be responsible for managing multiple projects at a time from small to extremely complex as well as facilitating proposal development and customer relationships. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical ability, communication skills, the ability to mentor others and establish relationships with clients and vendors.

This role is located in-office and will be based at our Katy, TX or Littleton, CO locations.

Your Role Lead multiple teams in delivering outstanding results across complex and small control system projects. Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for various processes and discrete automation projects. Manage scope, schedule, and budget effectively throughout project lifecycle. Review engineering documentation, drawings, programming logic, and process visualization (HMI) for technical accuracy and quality. Ensure adherence to standards and specifications in control system implementation. Conduct field visits as needed to review and verify instrumentation, control hardware, networks, and electrical work. Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements. Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and associated budgets. Prioritize tasks, schedule activities, and manage task ordering. Track and report project progress, financial status, and potential issues. Identify and resolve conflicts promptly to maintain project momentum. Lead and support project teams, providing technical guidance and oversight. Act as technical lead on projects, providing expertise and guidance in engineering and technical matters. Mentor and guide lower-level engineers and technicians to foster professional development and ensure project success.

Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is strongly desired. 10+ years' experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Mining Life Sciences, Building Automation, Manufacturing and Food & Beverage. Experience in the design of electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels and associated NEC references desired Experience with programming and implementation of RTUs, PLCs, DCS, SCADA and Industrial networks strongly preferred. PMP, Scrum, ADKAR, Lean, Six Sigma, CAP certifications preferred. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities. Proven experience in architecting, managing and executing large, complex projects. Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple teams across the nation simultaneously.

CO Salary: $85,000-$140,000 dependent on experience
