Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner with a strong background in data products to join our team. As an Agile Product Owner, you will be responsible for working directly with the business to develop the full backlog for an existing data products squad supporting a line of business, uncovering missing backlog items, and owning these items from start to completion. You will need to be willing to challenge and navigate around current processes that may be impeding communications between the business and data products squad. Your expertise in data products will enable you to effectively communicate with technical teams and stakeholders, drive the development of data-driven products that meet business needs, and ensure the agile squad is working on the correct priority items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the business to develop a comprehensive backlog of data products requirements, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and business intelligence, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, release plans, and iteration plans that align with business objectives and stakeholder needs

  • Communicate product plans, progress, and results to stakeholders, including executives, customers, and team members

  • Facilitate sprint planning, ensuring the agile squad is working on the correct priority items, and showcase demos to the business each iteration

  • Own backlog items from start to completion, creating and accepting stories, pushing issues to closure and managing risks as a project manager would

  • Use metrics and feedback to improve team and organization processes, best practices, performance, and delivery

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in a product ownership role, with a focus on data products or analytics supporting business functions

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working on/with an Agile team (XP, SCRUM etc.)

  • Experience working with multiple business stakeholders and planning product delivery

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with Jira

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions, such as Databricks, Tableau, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake

  • Certification in agile methodologies, such as CPO or CSPO

  • Strong understanding of development and delivering cloud native products as a service, virtualized deployments, containerization, DEV/OPS and CI/CD pipelines

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $83,160.00/Year - $118,800.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
