SWEETLAND HONEY, LLC Beekeeper (Temporary) in DELTA, Utah

Temporary Need: 02/12/24 - 11/12/24. Three (3) full-time, seasonal, temporary Beekeepers needed. Wage is $16.34/hour. Must have six (6) months of experience in beekeeping. Hours: 40 hours/week, 7:00am - 4:00pm, Mon. to Fri . Possible weekend/holiday work. Daily shift start and end times may vary based on weather, condition of bees/hives, and other variable factors. Work location: Delta, UT. Employer operates work location solely for bee/honey production. Workers will perform duties at the employer owned and/or operated location and intermittently within the area of intended employment within a 20-mile radius of location: Sevier, Millard, Sanpete, and Utah Counties, UT. Duties: Sorting and cleaning dead hives, feeding, medicating, inspecting, splitting beehives using specific hive tools, smokers, and feeding pumps, harvest and extract honey from hives, perform equipment and building maintenance, cutting weeds and maintaining farm lands. Check/make niches for beehives, move bees from hive-hive to pollinate at local work site location. Move bees using truck and forklift. Worker must not be allergic to bees and will wear bee suit and other related Beekeeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Terms and Conditions: Must be 18 years of age due to the nature of work. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80 lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work to operate vehicles. Worker must not be allergic to or have fear of bees. Worker must be able and willing to work in hot temperatures. Employee must have experience in beekeeping. All tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned will be provided at no cost or deposit to the worker. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed. This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
