PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position provides fleet wide support for the functional area of Outage Management. Responsible for Governance and Oversight (G&O) of the dry cask storage (DCS) program processes/products such as the development of detailed plans / schedules for spent fuel loading campaigns (SFLC), ALARA practices, Technical Specification compliance, and DCS procedure development. Conducts assessments on the implementation of the DCS program and processes including observations made during the execution of the campaign. G&O not limited to Outage Management but also crosses all organizational boundaries working with station departments and designated team leaders for SFLC preparation and execution. Performs the Alliance Manager role for AREVA/Transnuclear and Holtec relationships; reviews vendor performance trends and drives corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement. Solicits best practices internally and externally to improve organizational effectiveness. Supports the Director Dry Cask Storage with Peer team and business plan initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for Governance and Oversight (G&O) of DCS program process/products such as the development of detailed plans / schedules for spent fuel loading campaigns, ALARA practices, Technical Specification compliance, and DCS procedure development. (25%)

  • Provides oversight to ensure the station's SFLC plan and schedule is executed in accordance with Technical Specifications and in compliance with station procedures, processes and goals. (20%)

  • Provides corporate support for the campaign planning and schedule preparation and execution. (10%)

  • Conducts assessments on the implementation of the DCS program and processes including observations made during the execution of the campaign. (15%)

  • Solicits best practices internally and externally to improve organizational effectiveness. Reviews Exelon fleet DCS lessons learned; attends industry meetings and working groups such as HUG, TNUG, and NEI Spent Fuel Working Group; and reviews industry OPEX to identify best practices to be implemented. (10%)

  • Performs the Alliance Manager role for AREVA/Transnuclear and Holtec relationships; reviews vendor performance trends and drives corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement. (10%)

  • Supports the Director Dry Cask Storage with Peer team and business plan initiatives. (10%)

JOB SCOPE

  • Responsible for Governance and Oversight (G&O) of DCS program processes/products

  • Facilitates fleet intradepartmental communication and working relationships to help establish an outage plan to meet the station goals

  • Supports and participates in the Outage Management Peer team initiatives, lessons learned.

  • Mentors others in the Outage Management organization

  • Governance and Oversight directly impact SFLC safety management, duration and scope during planning and execution

  • Facilitates continuous improvement of vendors providing materials and services to the Outage Services organizations

  • Supports successful implementation of the fleet DCS program with expenditures of approximately $120M per year.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S.in Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • 10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years professional experience

  • Willing to travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Senior Reactor Operator training (BWR or PWR) preferred 5 years supervisory experience
