Millennium- Senior Accountant in Delavan, Wisconsin
Are you a seasoned accounting professional with a passion for precision and process improvement?
Join us at Millennium as a Senior Accountant and play a pivotal role in driving our financial success and innovation! In this role you will take ownership of key accounting processes, including the RMA/VRA process, lease accounting, rent payments, and compliance with property tax and business licenses. You will play a crucial role in the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Additionally, you will assist in various projects aimed at automating processes, enhancing controls, and improving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Month End Close:
Prepare recurring manual journal entries
Assist in resolving accounting and supply-chain issues
Complete assigned month-end close tasks
Returns Process:
Issue RMA credits as inventory is returned
Coordinate with the operations team daily
Review and follow up on VRAs monthly
Compliance (Property Tax, Lease Accounting, Business License):
Advise on and adjust property tax accruals as needed
Review and record lease agreements and expenses
Maintain business license registrations
Accounting Shared Services:
Provide backup support across key accounting areas, including billing, AP, and payroll
Ensure financial statement accuracy
Work on projects to improve controls, efficiency, and financial accuracy
Sales & Use Tax Support:
Assist with sales & use tax processes
Conduct monthly sales tax audits of exempt sales and review certificates
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on journal entries, reconciliation, accruals, prepaids
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
General knowledge of accounting processes within a distribution setting.
Reliable and committed, with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage tasks and deadlines independently.
