CoreCivic Training Coordinator, Community Corrections in DEL VALLE, Texas

$24.18 per hour

SUMMARY:

The Training Coordinator (SCA), Community Corrections is responsible for the proper implementation and compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) training standards, company policies and procedures, and regulatory contracts and standards. Interacts with facility staff, clients, outside agencies, including regulatory agencies. Facilitates, coordinates, and provides administrative oversight to all areas of responsibility, to ensure compliance at all levels of the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

  • Develops and maintains employee training files, documenting all individual employee pre-service and in-service training in accordance with company policy and procedures and ACA standards.

  • Plans, develops, directs, coordinates, schedules, conducts, and facilitates staff training to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, licensing, certifying, and accrediting agencies.

  • Develops training lesson plans for each subject approved for staff training and update as necessary.

  • Maintains tracking files for employee training hours.

  • Compiles and submits reports to Facility Administrator on staff training status for all employees at facility.

  • Monitors mandatory training requirements as stipulated in contracts, ACA standards, and regulatory agencies, to ensure facility remains in compliance.

  • Meets with Facility Administrator and senior facility personnel periodically to review training curriculum and training schedules. Ensures conducted training meets facility and staff needs.

  • Develops annual training goals and presents to Facility Administrator for review and approval.

  • Domestic U.S. travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field required.

  • Two years related work experience preferred. Additional years of related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to use good independent judgment when making decisions required.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is required.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
