Defiance County Sheriff's Office Full Time 911 Dispatcher in Defiance, Ohio
Full-Time Communications Officer: Communication Officers are responsible for answering all emergency and non-emergency calls, and dispatching for 3 Law Enforcement Agencies as well as 11 Fire Departments within Defiance County.
The applicant selected for the position must be able to work all shifts, holidays and weekends as well as completing trainings as required. Starting salary for this position is $41,600 per year.
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
Able to type 40 words per minute
21 years of age
Possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license
No convictions involving moral turpitude, charges of violence, or any felonies
The acceptable candidate will have the ability to:
Maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives or other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
Adhere to department professional and ethical standards of conduct
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Operate department radios, telephones, computers, and standard office equipment
Multi-task and prioritize effectively in a high stress environment
