Job Overview

Wagner Metals, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Bookkeeper/HR Generalist to join our team. This dual-role position will handle essential accounting and HR functions, ensuring smooth financial operations and fostering a positive work environment. As a key support to our financial and human resources processes, this position is ideal for someone with experience in both bookkeeping and HR who is ready to contribute to the growth and efficiency of our roofing business.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping:

  • Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist in monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Track expenses and budget variances, reporting any anomalies.
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate record-keeping for tax and compliance purposes.
  • Prepare invoices and statements and manage collections from clients.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning as directed by the CEO.
  • And all other tasks required by the management team.

Human Resources:

  • Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Handle employee records, benefits administration, and policy updates.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries, addressing employee relations, questions, and process regarding onboarding, benefits, payroll, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Coordinate and manage training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Promote a positive work environment and assist in team-building initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in bookkeeping and HR roles, ideally within the construction or roofing industry.
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, ZOHO Books, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
