Overview
Kimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Deerfield, IL.
Responsibilities
Responsible for designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions.
Candidate will be responsible for managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and external clients to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others.
Creating work plans and adhering to the budget set by the client and performing strong project management knowledge.
Attending meetings and communicating with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Current P.E. registration in the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain within 6 months
4+ years of relevant engineering experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills
Strong sense of self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Client management is a plus
Project management is a plus
Supervising staff is a plus
