FlexStaff is hiring for one of our clients.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate truck, UPS/FedEx/DHL shipments for the day's orders to ship. To create, print, and place labels on required boxes. To provide weights and dimensions for shipment. Bill orders in AS400 once items have shipped. Communicate via email and verbally with internal team and external sources. The Shipping Clerks keeps management informed of status of orders to ship for the day. Advises if orders expected into the shipping dept do not arrive in time to be packed and shipped. Also informs if orders expected into the shipping area do not arrive.
Setting: Manufacturing Department-Factory-Shipping Department
Responsibilities:
Oversee a Team Leader for the Shipping Packers and 4-5 packers when the Shipping Manager is not in.
Coordinate to ensure that all the day's orders to ship are being packed and prepared correctly and on time.
Using the AS400 to bill orders as they are readied to ship.
Using a computer to schedule truck shipments for specific customers using trucking dispatchers and freight forwarders.
Using UPS/FedEx/DHL websites as needed
Using Customer Portals as needed
Ability to coordinate domestic and international shipments.
Responsible to coordinate shipments and provide and obtain the necessary weights and dimensions, coordinate the proper labelling.
Position oversees the area activities of approx. 3-6 people in the Shipping Supervisor's absence.
Qualifications/Requirements:
At least 3 -4 years in a manufacturing setting.
Prior shipping clerk/coordination experience necessary.
Technical knowledge/ expertise: AS400, Windows based system, UPS, Fedex systems, working with customer intranets.
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to read and understand work order instructions.
Bilingual (Preferred)
Must know Windows based programs

The salary range for this position is $20-$20/hour
