State of Massachusetts House Manager / Mental Health Worker IV - Dedham in Dedham, Massachusetts

The Community Transitional Program is seeking a qualified candidate to provide direct care & counseling services to clients to prepare for more independent living; provide supervision to staff; supervise day to day operations of residence; coordinate activities for clients; oversee implementation of medication/treatment/rehabilitation/recreational programs; document treatment plans and progress notes; and perform other related duties as required. Please note:This is a 40 hour/week position, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Days off are Saturday and Sunday. Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime. Act as House Manager by supervising, assigning, evaluating, communicating and meeting with staff to clarify policies & procedures, check progress notes and shift activities in order to ensure staff are performing job duties according to program guidelines 1. Provide counseling to clients by identifying & addressing need areas & assisting with treatment goals and objectives to aid clients in achieving rehabilitative success. 2. Coordinate day, evening and weekend activities for clients by planning structuring & designing activities in accordance with treatment plan mandates and client recovery needs to enhance client community living skills development. 3. Develop client files, including but not limited to client assessment, treatment plans, monthly, quarterly and annual progress notes. 4. Develop client treatment plans by assessing client strengths & needs following established policies and procedures to promote independent living skill through development and implementation of client IAP’s. 5. Oversee file maintenance by reviewing files, checking progress notes for accuracy & addressing issues to ensure DMH regulations regarding files and documents are met. 6. Supervise implementation of all MAP policies and procedures by reviewing, updating and communicating procedures to staff in order to maintain consistent & accurate medication administration. 7. Assist in crisis intervention by identifying & and evaluating situations, providing necessary interventions to clients, staff, notifying appropriate personnel & preparing documentation adhering to policies and procedures to ensure human rights & safety standards are met. 8. Act as liaison to DMH, community providers & family members by scheduling and attending meetings, maintaining open/ongoing communication & providing documentation related to client issues in order to coordinate and enhance service delivery 9. Provide orientation and training to staff by identifying, scheduling & conducting regular & as necessary training programs and staff supervision to ensure staff are capable of providing the appropriate services to clients per established policies & procedures. 10. Ensure that residence is furnished with food, household/office supplies, furnishings & equipment by determining the need, monitoring supplies/ equipment on hand and ordering and/or purchasing when necessary to keep adequate supplies/equipment on hand. 11. Collect program fees from client; manage house monies, bank accounts, pay bills & maintain /monitor client funds to ensure effective financial management. Required Qualifications: * In accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to a work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within six (6) months of entering the position or three (3) examination opportunities, whichever comes first.
