Transportation Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing design plans and specifications, performing QA/QC checks to ensure designs meet company standards, and working alongside the design team on various projects. This role involves designing for current Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation Projects.
Responsibilities
Review design plans and specifications.
Perform QA/QC checks to ensure designs meet company standards.
Interpret specifications and drawings.
Recommend changes and document modifications.
Work alongside the design team.
Design for current Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects, as well as County and Municipal Transportation Projects.
Essential Skills
1 to 5 years of experience in transportation design.
Proficiency in MicroStation or Civil 3D.
Experience in QA/QC for planning and report reviews.
Knowledge of ADA, guard rail, MFT, Path Design, and IDOT.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
State (Rural or Urban) Design Experience.
Local (Rural or Urban) Design Experience.
Experience in Signal Design.
Experience in Guardrail Design.
Experience in ADA Design.
Experience in PATH Design.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of 80% office work and 20% field work. Our company advocates for work-life balance and offers a flexible working schedule. Once direct, PTO is based on industry tenure. We provide 8 paid holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Day After Thanksgiving (4 hours), Christmas Eve (4 hours), and additional benefits such as reimbursement if applicable.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.73 - $42.30
