This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager will be integral in the support of our Global Amino Acids business, development of midterm and long term strategic plans, and have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams within ADM: Commercial, Operations, Sales, Warehousing, Transportation, Finance, Technology COE, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Trade Compliance.

This position is the liaison between Customer Support, Commercial, Customer Quality, and Operations. They are responsible for managing short-term production forecasting, inventories and the group’s truck, rail, and vessel logistics to ensure high service levels to customers.

The position will have direct hands on involvement in the North American market and is expected to work with international offices to drive continuous improvement & optimization of global supply chain.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting and production planning in collaboration with the Business Manager and Operations

  • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels

  • Collaborate with accounting, global business services, plants, and warehouses to manage and reconcile finished goods inventories.

  • Drive supply chain metric improvement in OTIF, Aging Inventory, SLOB, and DIO

  • Identify obsolete and slow moving material. Recommend disposition.

  • Manage rail fleet and trans load utilization

  • Act as a liaison with customer quality and other quality groups for complete resolution of claims or requests

  • Coordinate and communicate rail, truck, vessel logistics, inventory positions, and forecasts to commercial team members

  • Searching and implementing best possible routes, rates from origin to customer destinations

  • Negotiating rates and agreements and maintain good working relationships with internal and external logistics providers

  • Prepare and present valuable global market statistics by monitoring competitor activity and current market trends

  • Other departmental job related duties as manager assigns

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in business or supply chain management. (Equivalent experience may be substituted for education at the hiring manager’s discretion.)

  • 3-5 years of experience managing supply chains/logistics

  • 3 years prior experience within an Agribusiness company a plus

  • Excellent communication skills emphasizing listening, writing, and speaking succinctly, clearly and effectively

  • A proven ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels inside and outside of the organization

  • Maturity, professional demeanor and personal discretion to interact with business leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products with particular focus in Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Sharepoint and Power BI platforms

  • Experience with ERP systems, RMS, Wave, IBM, and Pricefiles a plus

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $128,400.00
