Continuous Improvement & Industry 4.0 Project Manager

This is a full-time, exempt-level position.

Ideal location for this position is Decatur, IL.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Project Manager to lead and execute complex projects focused on Edge and cloud analytics, advanced manufacturing data analytics, and industrial transformation.

This role requires a deep understanding of both waterfall and Agile methodologies, coupled with a proven record of accomplishment in product scale-up and the application of technologies such as AVEVA PI, Edge stack, and Digital workflow (Connected worker).

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing operations and a passion for driving continuous improvement through innovative project delivery. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to navigate complex projects and drive innovation within the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables

  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards

  • Knowledge and ability to address Onsite / Offshore or Offsite model requirements

Financial Analysis:

  • Calculate and report on the financial benefits of projects to stakeholders

  • Identify value creation opportunities within plant operations and quantify their fiscal impact

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional project teams

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment

  • Provide coaching and support to team members in Agile methodologies and user story writing

Stakeholder Management:

  • Effectively communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Edge and cloud analytics, advanced manufacturing data analytics, and industrial transformation

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in a related position

  • Proven experience in project management, with a focus on technology-driven initiatives

  • Strong understanding of both waterfall and Agile methodologies

  • Ability to write and understand user stories

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical discipline

  • Experience with product scale-up and industrial transformation projects

  • PMP or Agile certifications

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement principles

  • Experience in scale up products from one location PoC (Proof of Concept) to multiple locations

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

  • Experience with project management tools such as Azure Devops

  • Knowledge of AVEVA PI, Edge & Cloud technologies stack, Digital workflow (Connected worker), Manufacturing Operations Management or similar technologies

Travel:

Up to 50% travel required.

Physical Requirements:

This job will require regular visits to observe project work in operating production plant facilities. Access to these project areas would involve climbing stairs and being exposed to the weather elements of the area, including hot and humid conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
