Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician II with strong experience in CNC maintenance. This role requires diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in this field, with expertise in either mechanical or electrical components. Experience with Siemens Controls, Giddings & Lewis Boring Mills, and Cincinnati Mills is highly desirable.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years of CNC Maintenance Technician experience

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines

  • Mechanical and electrical component knowledge

  • Siemens Controls experience (preferred)

  • Giddings & Lewis Boring Mills experience (preferred)

  • Cincinnati Mills experience (preferred)

  • Installing Ball Screws

  • Fitting bearings to set capture loads

  • Machine tool geometry adjustments

  • Spiral and Gear box rebuilds

  • Test bar, Draw bar, forceguard

  • Milling, drilling, and reaming

  • Hand and pneumatic tool usage

  • CNC Electrical troubleshooting

  • PLC experience - read Ladder Logic and troubleshoot

  • Electrical troubleshooting (24V - 480V)

  • Blueprint reading

  • Understanding geometric tolerances

  • Interpreting CMM reports

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Decatur, Illinois.

Work Environment

The environment includes a machine shop production setting with large parts. Initially, you will work Monday - Friday 8-hour shifts, transitioning to an AWS schedule once the project is fully staffed. The role involves regular standing, walking, handling materials, and occasional lifting of over 50 pounds. The factory environment is typically very loud, with exposure to hazardous materials, greasy or slippery floors, and outside weather conditions. There is also a risk of electrical shock.
