JOB OVERVIEW: Support and consistently reinforce the Mission and Core Values of MandD Mechanical Contractors, Inc. The Foreman is responsible for the execution of field operations of MandD projects per project schedule. The leadership displayed by this individual is critical to the projects performance. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising a specific trade through the installation process, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, code compliance and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in a specific mechanical and plumbing trade and willingness to develop a basic knowledge of other trades, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES and REQUIREMENTS: A foreman is a key position acting as a bridge between the onsite workers and the superintendent, project manager or general contractor. The foreman's primary duty is to oversee workers and ensure that projects are executed smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Here are the general and specific duties associated with the role of a foreman: Supervision: Overseeing the daily operations on the project site, from personnel to machinery and materials per the direction of the superintendent or project manager. The primary function of a foreman is problem resolution and removal of schedule roadblocks. Safety Protocols: Ensuring all workers adhere to safety guidelines and regulations including OSHA safety and PPE compliance. Project Oversight: Making sure the project is staying on schedule and within budget labor hours. Team Coordination: Coordinating tasks among the crew based on the projects priorities and objectives. Quality Assurance: Monitoring the quality of work and ensuring it meets the standards set by the project specifications and code compliance. Ensure project quality through inspection and testing Reporting: Assist in keeping detailed records of the project's progress and providing regular updates to superintendent and/or project manager. Communication: Serving as a primary point of contact between MandD field trades and superintendent/project manager. Facilitate and ensure collaboration between the project team, MandD support team and other trades. Training: Instructing, developing and training workers on trade methods, safety protocols, and the use of equipment. Perform other duties assigned by management
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Ensuring materials are ordered, delivered, and used efficiently. Directs field personnel daily workflow according to the project plan. Reviews the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all MandD and OSHA and governing requirements and the project site specific safety plan Verifying that materials meet project specifications and quality standards. Maintaining and inspecting equipment. Ensures that all employees participate in a safety pre-construction meeting prior to starting work on the project. Ensuring workers are trained to safely operate machinery. Coordinating and overseeing the work of subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with the project's timeline and standards. Assigning specific tasks to workers based on their skills and the needs of the project. Assist superintendent to identify and resolve personnel issues and construction process revisions. Ensuring that tasks are completed on time and correctly. Assist in generation of daily reports and maintains logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings. Manages the quality and condition of all material deliveries. Oversees the process to ensure compliance with MandD Material Verification requirements. Maintain as-built working drawings. Handling disputes or conflicts that may arise among crew members. Addressing concerns raised by workers about the project or their tasks. Maintain site cleanliness to the highest MandD standard C nducting safety drills and emergency response practices. Monitoring worker attendance and punctuality. Coordinating with local authorities or inspectors for necessary permits or inspections. Ensuring the site complies with local building codes and regulations.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Minimum of high school education, or GED equivalent Completed a MandD trade program - Preferred State certified journeyman card - Preferred Previous construction experience in mechanical or plumbing trades Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detailed understanding of a mechanical or plumbing trade with willingness to learn others Ability to read and comprehend project specifications Ability to read, comprehend project drawings Ability to read and comprehend industry standards and codes Computer skills with a basic knowledge to operate software applications Must be detail oriented and organized Must be able to self-check own work and that of others to ensure accuracy and completeness Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple task and schedule requirements Strong interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills Strong TEAM player
