Ford Motor Company Software Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

Seeking enthusiastic, experienced Full-stack API Software Engineers to build elegant and scalable solutions to power a digital car buying experience. We are the technical core of the eCommerce Platform, maintaining a strong engineering culture that encourages innovation, growth, and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, and QA, to design and develop a scalable microservices platform.

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality, reusable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and standards.

  • Handle operational issues with little or no oversight.

  • Actively review code to ensure the software quality and functional accuracy is maintained across the team.

  • Keen to learn the design and architecture of the product and participate in ceremonies that can influence both.

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, information technology or a technology related field

  • 6-12 years of experience in software development.

  • Java, open-source technologies and hands on experience in micro services using advance Java concepts.

  • Experience in Spring boot and Spring cloud frameworks

  • Experience in cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Docker etc

  • Experience in writing unit test cases using Junit, TestNG

  • Familiar with agile development lifecycle and worked on the design/development projects

  • All code delivered adheres to secure coding practices and with adequate code coverage at a minimum of 70

  • Should have experience in the usage of version control tools like ‘git’.

  • Experience in collaborative tools like GitHub, Bitbucket etc.

  • Exposure/Experience in Google, Amazon/Microsoft cloud computing platform

  • Experience/Exposure to NoSQL datastore(nice to have)

  • Build re-usable frameworks.

  • Integrating SaaS frameworks

  • Handle operational issues with little or no oversight.

  • Actively review code to ensure the software quality and functional accuracy is maintained across the team.

  • Keen to learn the design and architecture of the product and participate in ceremonies that can influence both.

  • Develop and maintain a robust and scalable UI architecture using NextJS / React JS

  • proficient in Next.js, React JS, and/or AEM stack.

  • Good experience with highly scalable applications and Extensive knowledge in JavaScript Design & Architectural Patterns.

  • Test and debug UI issues across different browsers and devices Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in UI development

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote/virtual work setting with other global team members.

  • Proven facilitation skills - able to effectively drive discussion among diverse perspectives and reach a decision or recommendation.

  • Effectively work with cross-functional teams across the organization – inside and outside of the technology and software organization

  • Problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
