As the Manufacturing Monitoring Developer, you will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications, developed code, and a deployed solution. You should be able to lead, support, develop, and implement technical solutions for the diverse manufacturing monitoring applications within Ford ensuring they meet the business requirements. Strong business support and a passion for taking on unique, unknown issues and seeing them through to resolution are required.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance for all aspects of the manufacturing monitoring systems, including architecture, design, development, implementation, and support.

  • System Design and Architecture: Design and implement robust and scalable solutions that align with business requirements and future growth plans.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems related to the Ford manufacturing monitoring systems.

  • Team Management: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

  • Best Practices and Standards: Stay abreast of industry best practices and standards for asset management and support security standards identified.

  • Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials for users and administrators.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different departments, including IT, operations, and business units.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and developing solutions per functional requirements using Java and Angular JS.

  • 1+ Experience working with cloud technologies (Azure, PCF, AWS, GCP)

  • Prior work experience in working with manufacturing plants to develop and support solutions to identify and control constraints identified.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Experience developing services to access and load data obtained from Mongo and/or MDE into a front-end application visualization.

  • Experience in creating and supporting PowerShell. Scripts.

  • Experience with DxDs (Data Collectors), SQL Server, and OPC architecture.

  • Ability to access Windows Servers and identify the root cause for reported issues reported on the plant floor.

  • Ability to work independently in a semi-structured environment, applications often have frequently changed or vaguely defined requirements.

  • Self-starter, ability to leverage various resources available to quickly learn and try out new concepts and technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Outstanding organization skills combined with critical thinking, problem-solving, and agile management tools to support team success.
