Village Ford Oil Technicians in Dearborn, Michigan

The Oil Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and other basic automotive care. This role involves working closely with other technicians and service advisors to ensure that all vehicles are serviced efficiently and effectively, meeting both customer needs and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oil Changes: Perform oil and filter changes on a variety of vehicles, ensuring proper oil levels and types are used according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Lubrication Services: Lubricate moving parts such as wheel bearings, suspension systems, and other critical components to ensure smooth vehicle operation.
  • Fluid Checks and Replenishment: Inspect and top off other vehicle fluids, including transmission, brake, coolant, and power steering fluids. Identify any leaks or issues that require attention.
  • Tire Maintenance: Inspect tires for wear and proper inflation, rotate tires as needed, and check tire pressure. Assist with tire changes and repairs when necessary.
  • Basic Vehicle Inspections: Conduct visual inspections of belts, hoses, filters, and other components for wear or damage. Report any findings that may require further attention or repair.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers about the services performed, any additional maintenance recommendations, and answer questions regarding vehicle care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including oil changes, fluid checks, and any additional maintenance. Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed according to company policies.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Report any malfunctions or repairs needed to management.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to environmental regulations regarding the disposal of used oil and other hazardous materials.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and service staff to ensure a seamless workflow and positive customer experience. Assist with additional tasks as needed.
