Ford Motor Company Manufacturing Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

Experienced Manufacturing Engineer leading the M3+ Engineering Studies including What-if’s, and Vignettes through responses (Prior to LL Funding and Formal RFQ’s) and supporting the Capital Investment Budget preparation for PTME.

  • Workload covers M3+ Engineering Studies in Machining areas including What-if’s, and Vignettes through responses (Prior to LL Funding and Formal RFQ’s).

  • Complete study work with PD (i.e. Product word assumptions, BoD / BoP requirements).

  • Fully complete the MA0 and MA1 assessments.

  • Identify any BoP updates to be done on legacy equipment.

  • Review and Incorporate any High Hurt Actions.

  • Develop the manufacturing study response and management review decks (i.e. Deep Dive Decks).

  • Deliver study hand off packages to Production Engineering.

  • Complete study and GPRM input.

  • Develop layout level 1 release (and study alternatives).

  • Support and concur HPU target setting.

  • Reuse Governance – Maintain list of Available Assets, Investigate Reuse Opportunities & Determine ‘Best Fit’ applications for assets available to redeploy.

  • CIB (Capital Investment Budget) - Evaluate, Rank, Select and Align CIB Requests with Annual Budget.

  • Coordinate collection of Maintenance and Modernization and Controls Obsolescence annual project submittals

  • Prioritize and distribute funding allocation across NA Powertrain and Prototype facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or equivalent manufacturing engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale manufacturing involved with Machining experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading teams performing technical engineering work in either a formal or informal capacity.

  • Experience with tooling, process, quality, and or facility equipment in a production environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
