Ford Motor Company Labels Application Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

In this position...

  • Lead Design, Release, Validation, and Launch of all unique labels for new model vehicle programs.

  • Will be responsible for all phases of engineering and integration - design concept, production release, validation, product launch.

  • Will be responsible for release and ergonomic feasibility for all unique labels on time, within cost and weight targets to meet performance objectives.

  • Support current production and quality efforts

  • Full end to end unique Label map deployment and analysis.

What you'll do...

  • Manage design development to support all Engineering, Production Tool Kick-off, and Build Milestones on time.

  • Lead/Support Team of Four meetings and sourcing deliverables with Purchasing, Finance, and Suppliers (Statement of Work (ESOW), Engineering Concepts (EC), Bill of material (FEDEBOM)).

  • Engineering Lead to key program milestone events (PS, PSC, UPV1, PA, FDJ, PEC)

  • Assure conformance to the Ford Global Generic Label Matrix (GGLM) per LQOS 570.

  • Assure conformance to all applicable Ford, regulatory requirements, CDPR assessments cascaded by ASO/E&SC

  • Insure Completion of all component FMA documentation including DFMEA, SCCAFs, , and CPAs

  • Engineering lead for FEDEBOM/WERS release final designs for all unique labels.

  • Insure Signoff for all vehicle builds (TDC, DCV, TT, PP) at multiple locations

  • Monitor AIMs, DURIS, Warranty Trends and react to any issues and follow to closure.

  • React to Voice of the Customer Fleet issues and follow to closure

  • Support team in work with VO to ensure component package meets assembly and ergonomic targets.

  • Support team and work with VO and supplier to develop proper dunnage

  • Support team and work with FCSD to ensure proper serviceability of all unique labels.

  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Vehicle Hardware Engineering Labels Organization

  • Validate designs through the Ford design validation process (DV/ PV), resolving all issues in a timely manner

  • Labels PD activities interfacing with:

  • Supplier, STA, Purchasing

  • VO / Quality / PVT

  • Interface with ASO and E&SC

  • VE

You'll have...

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ Years experience in D&R, Functional Engineer or Vehicle Engineers, PMT, PVT, Program Management

  • Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and automotive quality standards

  • Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross-functional teams (Program, ASO Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing

  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple issues effectively and efficient

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.

  • Outstanding communication skills (open, clear and inclusive) up to senior management.

  • Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.

  • High integrity with effective coaching and mentoring skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated design and release experience.

  • Demonstrated REG labels integration experience.

  • 4+ years of automotive industry design and release experience

  • 2+ years of manufacturing plant launch experience

  • Experience in Ford WERS/FEDEBOM/AIMS/FEDEDVP/GPDS/Integrator systems desired

This position is a salary grade GSR 5-8.
