Ford Motor Company Business Analyst - Events & Communications in Dearborn, Michigan

The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. The Business Office Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of Supply Chain Events & Communication. This position requires a highly adaptable individual comfortable juggling routine tasks associated with executing Supply Chain related events and both internal and external communications, with a significant volume of ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment. The Analyst will leverage strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to contribute to various projects and initiatives, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of their work.

In this position...

  • Identify potential risks associated with statement of work and proactively identify solutions.

  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in supply chain communications and events planning processes. Use data analysis to propose and evaluate improvements, measuring the impact of implemented changes.

What you'll do...

  • Plan and execute internal and external events related to the supply chain, such as supplier relationship management meetings, training sessions, conferences, and workshops. This includes venue selection, logistics, agenda development, and post-event reporting.

  • Develop and implement communication plans for managing supply chain disruptions or crises, ensuring timely and effective communication to stakeholders.

  • Develop and disseminate communications regarding supply chain performance, updates, and initiatives to internal stakeholders (e.g., through newsletters, presentations, intranet updates).

  • Manage communication with external stakeholders, such as suppliers, logistics providers, regarding supply chain matters.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the supply chain, including suppliers, and internal teams.

  • Gather and document requirements for supply chain-related events and communications.

  • Document existing processes, identifying areas for improvement and creating process flow diagrams.

  • Provide support to project managers on supply chain-related initiatives, contributing to planning, execution, and monitoring.

  • Support the implementation of changes within the supply chain, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruption.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or software solutions to improve supply chain efficiency and visibility.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of business analytics experience serving a supply chain environment.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical). Experience in presenting to senior management is essential.

  • Event Planning & Management: Proven experience in planning and executing successful events, including logistics, budgeting, and stakeholder management.

  • Project Management Skills: Experience supporting or managing projects, ideally within a supply chain context. Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is helpful.

  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop and implement effective solutions.

  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency: Expert-level skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are essential.

  • Professional Demeanor: Candidates must possess a professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Masters degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field

  • Experience with ERP Systems: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems commonly used in automotive manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Proven experience in analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and creating insightful reports and dashboards. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar is crucial. Experience with SQL or other database query languages is a significant plus.

  • Risk Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.

  • Change Management: Experience supporting organizational change initiatives.

  • Specific Automotive Industry Knowledge: Understanding of automotive supply chain specific challenges (e.g., just-in-time manufacturing, global sourcing).
