Ford Motor Company ADAS Embedded Software Technical Program Manager in Dearborn, Michigan

We are seeking a diligent, detail-driven technical program management professional to support our Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Embedded Software development activities. This involves applying Technical Program Management engineering principles and analytical techniques in support of delivering embedded platform software for the next generation of ADAS ECUs.

What you'll do…

  • Partner with key stakeholders to define, scope, prioritize, and deliver major ADAS software initiatives that span multiple teams and multiple organizations across Ford.

  • Apply technical project planning, management, and leadership for the development and delivery of ADAS Embedded Software (hand-coded or MBD-based)

  • Apply technical project planning, management, and leadership for the development and delivery of software tooling and/or support software to advance ADAS product development

  • Implement and execute roadmaps, schedules, project plans, and resourcing plans to enable ADAS teams to meet commitments across all customer constituencies

  • Lead team members on modern, world-class, software development practices, and precise execution of a technical plan (including management of milestone progress, dependency tracking, risk management, and risk mitigation)

  • Lead and interface with cross-functional teams – Systems, Software, Feature, Suppliers, Manufacturing, V&V, and Quality – to define and drive development plans, ensuring on time SW delivery with highest quality

  • Apply technical knowledge and capabilities to partner with technical leaders and to drive resolution on technical issues and cross-functional dependencies

  • Facilitate effective communication to drive alignment within the team as well as to a broad stakeholder and leadership community

  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, developing mitigations and/or recovery plans in event of project slips

  • Efficiently utilize work management tools – Wiki, JIRA, Project Management Tools – to make plans and status visible to leadership and to provide strategic planning options/contingencies

You'll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar related technical field

  • 4+ years working experience in product or feature development on hardware, software, and/or services

  • Experience with managing Agile projects using modern work management tools (ex. JIRA)

  • Experience with modern Product Development software development practices

  • Strong background in software development and/or managing software projects

Ideally you'll have…

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar related technical field

  • 7+ years working experience in product or feature development on hardware, software, and/or services

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines (engineering, product, design, testing, quality, etc.) throughout the entire product lifecycle

  • Expertise in embedded software development

  • Mastery of technical plan development (task identification, task breakdown, timing) for communication to multiple leadership levels of the organization

  • Proven ability to clearly communicate program information to stakeholders at various levels of the organization (written and verbal)
