ST NORBERT COLLEGE Exhibition and Collection Manager in DE PERE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Exhibition and Collections Manager. This position will help the Art department \"inspire, enhance, and culturally enrich the student experience and promote scholarship at St. Norbert College and within the greater community through the collection, preservation and exhibition of fine art and design.\" This includes designing and installing exhibitions that enhance the academic excellence of our students, maintaining a radically hospitable space that serves our campus and the surrounding community, and upholding the Catholic, Norbertine, and Liberal Arts traditions of St. Norbert College. The Exhibition and Collections Manager will be responsible for collaborating with the art faculty on an exhibition schedule for the college\'s three galleries: the Baer (1300 sq ft), Godschalx (330 sq ft), and the Permanent Collection (446 sq ft) Galleries. Specific responsibilities: Development and management of the exhibition schedules for the College\'s three galleries. - 40% Programming, organizing, and marketing gallery events. - 25% Designing exhibitions and communicating with artists. - 10% Training and managing student gallery workers. - 10% Management of the gallery and acquisitions budgets. - 5% Handling, packaging, and installing works of art. - 5% Maintenance and long-term planning for the college art collection. - 5% Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and Credentials - Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College. 2 or more years of experience working in art galleries or other similar fine art contexts Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations. Ability to interact politely and resolve customer service issues. Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments. Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Workday) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed. Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner. Skilled at setting a good example for others. Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion. Skilled at making presentations to large (\>100) groups of people. Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.
