Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position serves as the Distributed Computer Systems Specialist and works under the general supervision of the Data Processing Administrator-SES (DPA), position 64061884. This position is responsible for technical work installing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting multiple distributed computer systems for use by end-users including the hardware, software, and communications components of distributed systems.

Installs and implements distributed computer systems hardware, software, and communications components including enhancements and upgrades. Edits and modifies configuration files for the distributed computer system OS, applications for communicating with other computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment. Monitors the use of software and hardware through the network and provides for on-going identification and resolution of user needs. Conducts on-site system reviews to evaluate user compliance to systems standards and procedures. Operates equipment in conjunction with the DBA to test new programs. Conducts on-going support to identify methods/ techniques for improving the use of existing hardware, software, and to improve written documentation. Assists the DBA in the development and coordination of distributes infrastructure plan (both short and long term) for the LAN. Responsible for directing the work of the other DCSS positions at the direction of the DBA. Including monitoring and completing IT tickets assigned to team, distributing work, and maintaining a balance of workload throughout the team. Provides reports to the DBA on the daily task and projects. Image computers and laptops with new images provided by the DBA.

Serves as the purchasing agent for all IT purchases at Flagler, Putnam, and Volusia CHDs. Receives all items in the purchasing system. Reconciles invoices; and identify and resolve discrepancies. Serves as the inventory manager. Coordinates and assist with local IT bi-annual inventories. Coordinates annual county inventory with multiple departments. Provides the DCSS the necessary information needed to enter the states AMS inventory system. Print, encode, and apply RFID inventory tags as well as assigning county tags. Provide custom inventory reports. Prepares surplus pallets and documentations needed for the county and auctioneers. Coordinates surplus pickup with the auctioneer and facilities department.

Answer IT Help Desk calls by assisting users with routine network access problems including password resets and unlocking accounts, MFA account setup and reset, mapping drives, TEAMs, and other IT assistance. Prioritizes calls according to the severity and refers computer system problems or failures to appropriate authorities. Coordinates with other team members to ensure system and network are functioning properly. Assists with software installation and implementation processes as needed. Assists and train users on general computer and software use.

Serves as cell bill account manager. Monitors and updates accounts within the cell bill verification system. Drafts and obtain all necessary forms needed prior to assigning cellular devices. Configures all cellular devices. Notifies staff when devices are due for operating system and device upgrades.

Must be a current Florida Department of Health employee, in a Selected Exempt Service (SES), Career Service (CS), or Other Personal Services (OPS) position

Preferred -

Ability to monitor and maintain asset inventory.

Knowledge of Windows system.
