Robert Half Staff Accountant in Dayton, Tennessee

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a thriving manufacturing team based in DAYTON, Tennessee. This role will be centered around the provision of accounting support across numerous internal functions, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare various journal entries, as needed to maintain accurate financial records.

• Compile and manage daily reports to support business decision making.

• Reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Maintain compliance with SOX requirements to uphold the highest standards of financial integrity.

• Prepare and file sales tax reports in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Develop and report on departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance and drive improvement.

• Identify and develop cost-saving initiatives to contribute to the company's financial health.

• Process employee expense reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.

• Act as a backup for the payroll function, ensuring seamless payroll operations during periods of absence.

• Assist in Inventory auditing to maintain accurate inventory records.

• Participate in ad hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements • Applicant must have at least one year of experience in a Staff Accountant role within the Manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in General Ledger and Journal Entries is a must.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required.

• Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries is required.

• Ability to handle Accrual Accounting and Accruals.

• Experience with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is necessary.

• Familiarity with ADP Payroll systems would be beneficial.

• Experience with Annual Inventory tasks is desired.

• Proficiency in KPI Reporting is needed.

• Knowledge of Sage MAS 500 software is beneficial.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required.
