LINQUEST CORPORATION Staff Software Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Description LinQuest is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Dayton, OH. US Citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance required. LinQuest designs and delivers custom software solutions that enable capability and/or provide decision support to our clients: primarily in the defense/aerospace industry. Our project portfolios include solutions for Human Machine Interfaces, mission planning and wargaming, MS&A (modeling, simulation, and analysis), Big Data analytics, Data Science frameworks and services, and Logistics and Acquisitions decision support tooling. LinQuest is always looking for effective software engineers to join our team to design and build these impactful software solutions. Software Engineers/Developers create software solutions for a specific project(s) and contribute technical leadership to their teams, while continuously assimilating modern design principles and software development best practices. The must be able to collaborate in a cross-disciplinary environment to acquire the domain-specific subject matter expertise to be effective as Developers and technical leaders. These engineers work alongside talented software engineers and have the technical expertise and consulting acumen to assist software teams. These engineers understand many facets of the software development lifecycle required to execute a project and can accomplish the necessary DevOps toolchains to create a CI/CD pipeline. They have experience collaborating with small software development team's and integrating into a larger software development team using agile methodologies. The employee in this role will perform software development tasks for our team that is focused on the modeling, simulation, and related tool development supporting the analysis of aerospace weapons, sensors, and related C4ISR entities. The employee will work with a multi-disciplinary team of developers, engineers, and analysts to develop solutions to complex technical problems while supporting the Scientific and Technical Intelligence community (NASIC, MSIC, NGIC, ONI) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Required Skills & Experience: Must have the motivation and discipline to self-teach as required by new projects and stay current with the latest software development tools and best practices. Must have familiarity with modern JavaScript (ES6+), C++, and front end libraries/frameworks such as React. Must have the attitude and demeanor to mentor and collaborate with teammates to achieve customer goals. Must have the knowledge and communication skills to articulate trade-offs between design decisions/courses of action and provide effective updates on project outcome uncertainty to clients/project leadership.
