Job Brief Software Engineer/Software Architect Infoscitex, a DCS Company, has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Software Engineer/Software Architect lead to join our Aerospace Technology Development Team in our Dayton, Ohio facility. We have an immediate need for an experienced, solutions-oriented software engineer to augment our extensive software development, modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts. Our teams create solutions used throughout the Department of Defense in real-world applications, autonomous command and control, human-machine interfaces and modeling, simulation and analysis which impact the course of future DoD technology development. Essential Job Functions: The successful candidate for this position could expect to: Lead tight-knit teams following agile-based software development practices that result in the design, development, integration, and test of tactical autonomy capabilities. Apply systems and software engineering principles to manage system complexity, reduce integration time, and increase reusability. Apply and tailor rigorous software development processes within agile research and development environments. Interact with customers to discover requirements, develop innovative solutions, and present findings to leadership. Interact with subject matter experts across a wide variety of knowledge domains. Some travel may be required. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. At least a BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and at least 12 years of related experience. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance. Specific skills we seek: Ability to translate customer requirements into implemented algorithms. Experience with autonomy and artificial intelligence. Ability to code in Java and C/C++. Experience leading teams in the use of source code control systems (specifically Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Desired Skills: Active U.S. DoD security clearance. Knowledge of algorithms such as classical and modern control techniques, guidance algorithms such as proportional navigation, Kalman filters, classical filter design, applied nonlinear control design techniques, validation of control methods, discrete implementation limits and concerns. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes. Experience working in a Linux environment. Certification as an Agile practitioner (Scrum master or equivalent). Knowledge of applications and techniques such as graph search, route planning, nonlinear programming, and communication-constrained environments. Knowledge of coordinate transformations, dynamical system modeling, flight dynamics and basic airmanship, application of numerical algorithms to develop extremely reliable solutions.
