Nidec Minster Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Electrical for its offices in Dayton, Ohio
Provide application or control systems design and development for industrial equipment. Involves working with Siemens programmable logic controls (PLCs), motion controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), networks, and other industrial controls from an application and programming standpoint. Creating and maintaining master designs while collaborating with other Nidec Press and Automation engineering groups to align products for a common look and feel. Includes researching, evaluating, and testing new system solutions utilizing the latest hardware and software technologies. Ensure design meets local build codes and regulations and achieves proper category level for safety. Create diagrams and bill of materials within the ePLAN electrical computer aided design (CAD) system. Interacting with customers, design teams, and vendors to define scope, plans, and product deliverables. Participate in control commissioning of equipment and installations that may involve custom integration of ancillary equipment, i.e., stacker, conveyor, robot, transfer, etc. Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and diagnostics to support field service. Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Automation, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical and Electrical Engineering plus 5 (five) years of progressively responsible experience in an Industrial Controls occupation. The required experience must include the following:
5 years of experience in an Industrial Controls occupation using PLC Based Controls, VFD Drives, HMI's, and Ethernet;
5 years of experience troubleshooting PLCs;
3 years of experience troubleshooting and commissioning industrial and automation equipment;
2 years of experience with electrical CAD; and,
Must be fluent in Spanish.
