Dayton Public Health Dayton Montgomery County Public Health Nurse I /II (OMJ/MC) in Dayton, Ohio

Minimum Qualifications: • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or an associate degree with two years relevant nursing experience • Current valid Licensure from State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse • Understands and acknowledges the use of tobacco or nicotine products in any form including replacement therapy products and prescription medications used to treat smoking addiction for any anyone hired after January 1, 2014, is prohibited. • Completion of Incident Command System 100 and National Incident Management System 700 courses within 90 days of hire. • Current valid Ohio driver's license and access to a motor vehicle • Required to play an active role during the public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional personnel resources are warranted. This may include changes in responsibilities and working locations/hours. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree plus four years' experience in nursing (two of which are in Public Health) or an associate degree with six years of nursing experience (two of which are in Public Health) • Experience working in TB and Public Health is preferred. • Very organized, self-directed, and good interpersonal skills Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Provide professional nursing care for patients; Administers medication and treatment per physician direction, completes appropriate forms and reports. • Responsible for providing TB screening through skin test and nursing assessments. • Responsible for assisting the physician with medical evaluations for various populations including refugees/immigrants/foreign-born and other high-risk populations. • Responsible for assisting the physician with medical evaluations. • Providing educational sessions to patient/family on health issues or referrals and TB testing. • Recording patient care and progress regularly • Documenting data and generating reports and completing appropriate forms as required
