We specialize in serving Veterans by reducing wait times for them to gain access to disability screens and separation health assessments required by the Veteran Affairs (VA) to receive benefits. Job Description The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the medical office and any Veteran/family activity including patient flow related to in-person visits. The role will require excellent customer service skills, Provider support in relation to checking Veterans/patients into the clinic, retrieving medical documentation, scheduling, and examination assistance. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting the exam rooms and maintaining overall office cleanliness. Ideal candidates have a proven track record of high reliability working in a very independent atmosphere with little oversight. Duties include the following. Prepare for and deliver exceptional Veteran/patient handling and care during all interactions - all-inclusive front and back-office duties. Assist providers with checking veterans/patients into the clinic, scheduling, medical documentation retrieval and submitting all required medical documentation timely. Participate and contribute to all work activity and organized meetings, sharing point of view and recommendations. Support organization by practicing fiscal responsibility as well as maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. Further support by contributing to operational developments, process improvement initiatives and strategic planning. Ability to initiate and follow through on work independently Proven ability to be prompt, reliable with a strong, professional work ethic Proven problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems Proven ability to establish and foster significant relationships Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to meet assigned deadlines and adapt to changing priorities Education/Experience: Active MA Certification in state of employment More than 1 year experience strongly preferred Experience with Interacting with the Veteran population preferred Knowledgeable with managing provider workflow and scheduling Technological Skills: Experienced in one or more major Electronic Health Records Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) Knowledge of EKG, ABI, Spirometry, phlebotomy Required Knowledge and Skills: Ability to assist Veterans with walking, transfer, examination preparation etc. Ability to assist Providers with examinations, if needed (i.e., chaperone) Ability to initiate and follow through on work independently Proven ability to be prompt, punctual, and reliable Proven problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions based on our current or potential future capabilities Proven ability to establish and foster relationships Excellent written and verbal communications skills Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, discrete, resourceful, and ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Detail-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines with an ability to adapt to changing priorities.
