Air Combat Command YOUTH ACTIVITIES CLERK (OA) in Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona

Summary The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Youth Center. In this capacity, the position develops implements and administers clerical administration of the Youth Center, provides an overall safe and healthy environment to protect children and staff. Additionally, assist the Director and Assistant Director, to ensure the facility and grounds are properly maintained. Assist with programs to include School Age Program, Teen, Membership and Sports programs. Responsibilities Perform clerical and administrative work in support of the program; accurately maintain and update file system to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information. Manage input of schedules and verifies employee in and out times. Ensures that the payroll timesheets accurately reflect the number of hours the employees worked and is entered accurately into the computer system. Serve as USDA Food Service Monitor or alternate for the Youth Center Program. Verifies classroom staff accurately documented and reported number of meals served daily; and compiles numbers for end of-month report to submit to UDSA for reimbursement. Monitor and manage the reception/front desk area; monitors from work station through closed circuit cameras all activities of children and staff while in classrooms and center, and notes any discrepancies to the Youth Center Director in accordance with procedures. Assists in the Youth Center Programs; may be required to assist during periods of staff shortfalls due to leave, illness, or breaks. May be required to assist in transportation of patrons, including driver duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Group Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of general experience equivalent to the GS-03 level in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of two full years of education above high school from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of Youth Center regulations, procedures, and processes. 2. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures to answer telephones, maintain files/office forms, order supplies, and genera administrative guidance. 3. Knowledge of various automation programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and to produce a variety of documents. 4. Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed. 5. Ability to locate, assemble, and compose routine, non-technical information for recurring reports and inquiries. 6. Ability to consistently communicate effectively orally and in writing, using courtesy and tact. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
