Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Campus Life Coordinator. - Davie, FL.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Oversee Coconut Cove student lounge, including creating a welcoming environment for any student, monitoring the Serenity Room space for supplies & use, hosting programs in the space

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff/intern(s) for the Coconut Cove Student Lounge

  • Maintain Inventory for Beyond Food Program.

  • Assist in the development and execution of the unit’s strategic plan.

  • Serve as the programming liaison to the main campus department of the Weppner Center for LEAD & Service-Learning which includes travel to Boca, Davie, Ft. Lauderdale, and SeaTech campuses to plan, implement, and assess programming related to learning outcomes for students and student leaders on the Davie, Ft. Lauderdale and SeaTech campuses, including workshops, activities, events, team builders and seminars in leadership development, and FAU iLead and WeLead annual conferences.

  • Advise the Council of Student Organizations (COSO) and all related programming, including increasing the number of registered student organizations and honor societies on the Broward campuses.

  • Work to ensure registered student organization officers are well aware of accounting and budgeting procedures and develop an accountability plan to ensure compliance.

  • Advise the Broward Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI), Judicial Branch Associate Justice, and Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) and all related programming.

  • Plan, implement, and provide support to all Student Government elections initiatives.

  • Provide program support and coordination to the Davie Campus' Transfer Student Orientation, Program/Campus Life, open houses, and other events related to the admissions, recruitment, and retention of students.

  • Plan, implement, and assess Campus Life programming on the Davie, Ft. Lauderdale, and SeaTech campuses, including but not limited to Red & Blue Weeks, University-wide Days of Service, It's On Us Week, Domestic Violence Awareness Week, and other programming-related to strategic goals and learning outcomes for students.

  • Collaborate across campuses to ensure communication, continuity of, and comparable high-quality programs/services/and events.

  • Represent Broward Campus Life at weekly meetings focused on the continuous advancement of Campus Life for FAU and programming that compliments and/or supports all campuses.

  • May provide support to any area under the Campus Life umbrella.

  • Assist both staff and student leaders in the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities in any area under the Campus Life umbrella and not under direct purview.

  • Maintain a collaborative climate among students; this includes attending student government meetings and sponsored events.

  • Serve as an Essential Personnel responsible for crisis management and emergency protocol as needed.

  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Director of Campus Life or appropriate senior administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Must have the ability to work independently, plan and organize work efficiently and accurately.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills is required.

Advanced computer skills and strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Salary:

$45,000 per year.

Work Days and Hours:

Monday – Thursday, 8:30am - 5:30pm with two evening shifts of 10am - 7pm; Friday, 8am - 5pm.

The hours and days of this position vary based on the needs of the division, department, and our students.
