Senior HR Administrator (UK)

Position Summary

The Senior HR Administrator oversees and manages various administrative tasks related to the employee lifecycle process including recruitment, onboarding, retention and exit plus managing HR systems and compliance. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operating of HR processes whilst maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all HR-related matters.

Essential Functions

  • Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, processes and procedures

  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee relation issues for overtime, holiday and policy queries, escalating as necessary

  • Support HR Manager to handle other inquiries, grievance and disciplinary matters

  • Support managers to facilitate performance management processes, including goals, performance reviews and development planning.

  • Talent Management

  • Work with hiring managers to support the recruitment and selection process, giving managers the tools to manage their recruitment processes

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain and develop top talent within the organisation

  • Identify training needs and partner with the learning & development team to create develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

  • Policy Development and Compliance

  • Working with the HR Manager, development and implement HR policies, procedures and initiatives to ensure compliance with legislation

  • Keep up to date with changes in employment laws, regulations and advise on necessary updates and actions

  • As required, conduct audits and assessments to ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures

  • Organisational Design and Development

  • Partner with the HR Manager to support change management efforts throughout the organisation, including process improvement, cultural transformations and business growth

  • Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Ensure hiring managers have the tools and the support they need to run an effective and timely recruitment

  • Provide guidance on support on the recruitment process, including interviewing and selection tips

  • Provide assistance where necessary

  • Manage and work with other team members to effectively coordinate onboarding activities including paperwork completion and introduction to company policies and procedures

  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for recruitment

  • Prepare role descriptions, person specifications and recommendations for salaries as required

  • Source candidates and manage a candidate pipeline

  • Administration and Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records

  • Prepare contract of employments, offer letters, contractual changes and other important HR documentation

  • Ensure updates are managed accurately on the HRIS

  • Support employees to manage and maintain their personal data on HRIS

  • Keep and maintain accurate records for all employees

  • Benefits Administration

  • Support benefits enrolment processes including private medical insurance, pension and any other employee benefits.

  • Be a point of contact of benefits queries, ensuring a timely response to employees

  • Other

HR Advisor Person and Technical Specification

We are looking to recruit an HR Advisor , or a Senior HR Administrator who is looking to take their next step to join the HR Team at Woodford Halse in the UK. The HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Manager (acting as deputy in times of absence) in the UK and the teams in the US to support across various functions and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a good understanding of HR practices and regulations. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop HR practices, policy and processes whilst growing their career, in a fast-paced, exciting organisation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 3 Qualification (or working towards)

Skills/Abilities and Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience of dealing with high volume administrative workloads

  • Working in a HR environment, managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle

  • Working with conflicting deadlines

  • Working in a manufacturing environment

  • Delivering excellent customer service to a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders

  • Working in a HR environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with high levels of attention to detail

  • Experience using Dayforce

  • Confident when communicating with employees at different levels across the organisation, including managers and directors

  • Good organisational skills, with a pro-active approach to planning and prioritising work, with a successful track record in managing deadlines

  • Developed IT skills, and competent using MS Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Empathy with employees who have a wide range of needs and requests

  • Use of a HRIS system

  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and compliance requirements

  • A ‘can do’ attitude, and works to make things happen taking others along with them

  • Commitment to the provision of a high-quality service

  • High level of personal integrity and confidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively with employees, maintaining good focus, discipline and behaviours
