Amergis Educational Staffing is collaborating with a school to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with students on a contractual basis.
Position Details:
Location: Dartmouth, MA
Pay Rate: $40-45 per hour (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Contracted until the end of the school year, with potential for extension
Schedule: Initially Mondays and Wednesdays, approximately 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Note: The position will gradually transition to Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, approximately 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Requirements:
Valid MA LPN License
Description:
We are looking for a committed 1:1 LPN to provide transport assistance (no driving required) and day shift care for a 7-year-old male student with multiple complex disabilities.
The student is gradually reintegrating into the program, beginning with attendance on Mondays and Wednesdays. The position will eventually transition to a schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, approximately 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

The 1:1 School LPN/LVN identifies and treats health disorders among students in the school setting. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN provides instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. The School LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performed in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes.
Minimum Requirements:
Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Current BLS card
Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
Understands the school organization and the community served
Must be at least 18 years of age
