Amec Foster Wheeler Skills Pool Advisor in Darlington, United Kingdom

We are currently sourcing a Skills Pool Advisor to join our Skills Pool Team based in Darlington.

The successful candidate will work as part of a wider team managing Wood’s technical resource pool and will support the business through delivery of a quality training management service.


  • Training Matrix compliance management, monitoring and reporting (incl. client specific reports)

  • Complete and manage all deviations required for the business

  • First point of contact for employees dealing effectively with requests, answering queries and taking accountability for processing each enquiry to conclusion

  • Maintenance of AIS Training & Competence Management Systems - training record audit and competence portfolios

  • Responsible for managing training bookings for onshore office based employees through the training management company

  • Manage and administer competence-related increments

  • Managing employee files ensuring training requirements are kept up to date

  • Point of contact for any further education training courses, advising on courses to management, ECITB funding/Apprenticeship Levy funding and collating the approvals and retention agreements for each individual before course being processed

  • Pre-employment compliance checks

  • Providing administration support to team members

  • Attend internal and client meetings either onsite or call as and when required

  • Commercial, payroll and accounts enquires – over payments, claw-back missing payments, invoices


  • Previous Training & Competence experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry

  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritise
