We are looking for an enthusiastic Test Engineering Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Product Development Business segment in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a STEM degree.

  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team with experience contributing to or leading a group project.

  • Strong desire to learn with knowledge of the practical application of science or engineering concepts.

  • Good level of skill using Microsoft applications including Excel and PowerPoint.

QUALIFICATIONS

The individual will be involved in carrying the below activities on a regular basis across a variety of systems:

  • Planning testing and development alongside the performance and product validation teams.

  • Undertaking regular data reviews to guide development.

  • Generating problem statements and troubleshooting sample or facility challenges.

  • Communicating regular updates to the test customers and wider department.

  • Generating subsequent technical reports.

An understanding of engine or powertrain system fundamentals would be an advantage however training will be provided for all industry specific skills required for the role.

A background in engineering or another STEM-related subject is also required.
